What is Xtream Codes?
Xtream Codes began as the name of a server panel for IPTV providers. Today it names the interface that panel introduced, which many servers still answer, and the login that goes with it: a server address, a username and a password.
Lumen·TV is an IPTV player for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones and tablets. It needs Android 8.0 or later. It plays the M3U or Xtream Codes playlist you already have, and includes no channels. 21 days free, then €0.99 a month for one device, or €19.99 once for 2 devices, or €29.99 once for 5. The trial needs no card and ends by itself.
The three details.
Providers send them together, sometimes labelled host, user and pass. With them, a player asks the server itself for each part of the subscription, rather than reading one long list.
- Server address
- The provider’s server, with its port when it has one, such as
http://server.example:8080, and nothing after it: noget.php, no question mark. - Username
- Your account on that server. As a rule it is not an e-mail address.
- Password
- The password of that account. With the username, it is what identifies your subscription, so keep both to yourself.
What the server answers.
The same three details open several addresses on the server. A player uses them for you; you only ever type the three details.
player_api.php- The interface itself: the categories, the live channels, the films and the series, as data a player lays out in its own screens.
get.php- The subscription’s channels exported as an M3U playlist. A link like
…/get.php?username=…&password=…&type=m3u_plusis an Xtream login written as an M3U link. xmltv.php- The programme guide for those channels, as an XMLTV file, opened with the same username and password. See what an EPG is.
A login or an M3U link?
An M3U link gives a player one list to read. An Xtream login lets it ask for each part on its own: films and series apart from live channels, each with what the provider publishes about it, and the guide without a second address to add. When a provider gives both, they reach the same subscription.
A subscription usually allows a set number of streams at a time, sometimes only one. Every device that plays counts, and so does every picture of a multi-view.
What Lumen·TV does with an Xtream login.
- Takes the three details on the TV, on the Xtream Codes tab of “Xtream or Stalker login”, or a whole
get.phplink sent from your phone, which it reads as the same login: signing in with Xtream Codes. - Asks the server for the live channels, the films and the series, and for the guide at
xmltv.phpwith the same username and password, so there is no guide address to add. Fill in XMLTV EPG URL (optional) only if your provider publishes the guide somewhere else. - Sent from your phone, the address is erased from our side the moment your TV has collected it, because an Xtream address carries your password.
- Holds up to eight playlists, each its own login or link, one loaded at a time.
