Google TV · Android TV televisions

Lumen·TV on your Android TV television.

Many Sony, Philips, TCL and Hisense televisions run Google TV or Android TV. On those with Android 8.0 or later, Lumen·TV installs from this site with Downloader, and the television’s own remote works as it does for broadcast channels: number keys, channel keys and colour keys.

21 days free, no card · From €0.99 a month, or €19.99 once for 2 devices

Lumen·TV is an IPTV player for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones and tablets. It needs Android 8.0 or later. The trial needs no card and ends by itself.

Every feature, in detail

Is yours an Android TV?

The same maker sells televisions on different systems, so the brand alone does not say. The home screen does: it says Google TV or Android TV. Settings → System → About, or Settings → Device Preferences → About on older sets, shows the version.

Sony
Bravia televisions have run Android TV since 2015, and Google TV since 2021.
Philips
Some Philips televisions run Android TV or Google TV. Others run Titan OS or Saphi, which cannot install Android apps.
TCL
Many TCL televisions run Google TV or Android TV. Those on Roku TV or another system cannot install it.
Hisense
Most Hisense televisions run VIDAA, which cannot install Android apps. The models on Google TV or Android TV can.
Any other maker
Any television with Google TV or Android TV and Android 8.0 or later.

The television remote.

A television’s remote has the keys a streaming box’s remote lacks, and Lumen·TV uses every one of them. On a live channel full screen:

↑ ↓
The channel above or below, in the order of the list.
←
The channel list, over the picture, while the channel keeps playing.
→
Quick settings for the channel you are watching.
OK
The controls over the picture, with pause and the audio and subtitle choices.
Play/pause, rewind, fast-forward
Pause and resume, or move 30 seconds back or forward, where the stream allows it.
CH+ / CH−
The next or the previous channel.
0–9
A channel number: 1, 2, 8 lands on channel 128, with nothing in between.
Blue, or the last-channel key
Back to the channel you were on before.
Red, or the audio key
The audio tracks. The subtitles key opens the subtitles.
Yellow
Multi-view, starting from the channel you are on.

Keys a remote does not have are simply not needed: ↑ ↓, the list and search reach every channel. In a right-to-left language such as Arabic, ← and → swap, with the layout.

Where we run it.

Lumen·TV runs on our own television, a TCL with Android 14, and that is where its recording was tested. We have not tried it on a Sony, Philips or Hisense set ourselves, so use the 21-day trial to check it on yours: it starts the first time you open the app, needs no card and ends by itself.

How to install Lumen·TV on a Google TV television

Six steps, with the remote, and no computer. On a set with the older Android TV menus, the same settings are under Settings → Device Preferences, and developer mode is usually not needed.

  1. Check the version in Settings → System → About: Android TV OS 8.0 or later.
  2. Install Downloader by AFTVnews from Google Play on the device.
  3. Turn on developer mode: in Settings → System → About, select Android TV OS build seven times, until the TV says you are a developer.
  4. Let Downloader install apps: Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources, then switch on Downloader.
  5. Open Downloader, enter 8581959 and select Go.
  6. Select Install, then open Lumen·TV. The free trial starts there.

Good to know.

Which IPTV player works on a Sony, Philips, TCL or Hisense TV?

On a model that runs Google TV or Android TV with Android 8.0 or later, Lumen·TV installs from this site with the Downloader app and the code 8581959. A set on VIDAA, Titan OS, Saphi, Roku TV or another system of its own cannot install Android apps.

My television has no Google Play. Can I install it?

Not on a set that runs VIDAA, Titan OS, Saphi, Roku TV or another system of its own: Lumen·TV is an Android TV app. A Google TV or Android TV box plugged into the set runs it instead, such as a Chromecast with Google TV or a SHIELD TV.

Can it record?

Yes, on Android TV: record a programme from the guide and watch it when you like. Phones and tablets do not record.

Can I type an Xtream login on the TV instead?

Yes. Beside the code, the TV offers “Xtream or Stalker login”, which opens the fields for a server address, a username and a password.

Is Lumen·TV on Google Play?

Not as a public listing today. You install it from this site, and from version 1.0.905 a copy installed this way looks for a newer version here itself and offers to install it.

Does Lumen·TV include channels?

No. It is a player. You add the playlist your provider gave you, and you need the rights to what you watch.

How much does Lumen·TV cost?

21 days free, then €0.99 a month for one device, or €19.99 once for 2 devices, or €29.99 once for 5. The trial needs no card and ends by itself.

What a licence does not cover.

  • No catch-up or replay

A deliberate exclusion, not an oversight. It depends entirely on archive endpoints many providers do not expose, and selling something your provider may not support is worse than not having it.

  • One guide source per playlist

Enough for most households. Several sources merged into one guide, guide reminders, descriptions inside the timeline and a guide time offset are not part of the app.
