Lumen·TV 1.0.1064: when your provider refuses a stream

When your provider refuses a stream, the app now asks for it again another way and remembers what worked, and it tells you when your provider is not answering or already counts every connection your subscription allows. On a television, a press of OK opens, and only OK held for half a second adds to My list.

What changed.

  • A refused stream, asked for again another way

When your provider refuses a stream, the app’s reconnection attempts no longer ask for it the same way each time. A live channel from an Xtream Codes provider is asked for in its other format, HLS or MPEG-TS, and a refused stream is then asked for the way other players ask. What worked is remembered for that playlist and asked for first from then on.

  • A film in the file type its details name

A film from an Xtream Codes provider is now asked for in the file type its details name, which can differ from the one in the list of films. When the app has not read those details yet, it asks for them as the film opens and waits for them two seconds at most. If your provider still refuses the film, the next attempts ask for it the way other players ask.

  • Your playlist, asked for the same way

When the provider of an M3U or Xtream Codes playlist refuses its list of channels, films or series, or its guide, the app asks for it again the way other players ask. And a playlist you add from your phone now keeps the format its address names, such as output=ts.

  • The previous stream closed before the next

When you change channel, open a film or an episode, or the app reconnects, it now closes its connection to the previous stream before it asks for the next one, even when your provider had stopped sending anything. Before, when your subscription allows a single connection, your provider could refuse the next channel for a moment, while it still counted the one you had left.

  • When your provider does not answer

When your provider does not answer at all, the app now says “Your provider is not answering. Try again in a moment.” from its first reconnection attempt, in place of “Reconnecting 1 of 3” over a black picture. It is also what the screen says if playback stops after the last attempt.

  • When every connection is already counted

When an Xtream Codes provider has refused a stream at every attempt, the app now asks it once how many connections your subscription allows and how many it counts. If every one is counted, the screen says so in place of its usual sentence, for instance “Your provider already counts 2 of the 2 connections your subscription allows. Stop watching on another device, or try again in a few seconds.” If that count may still include the stream the app has just closed, which a provider can go on counting for a few seconds, the app first shows “Reconnecting 3 of 3”, waits a few seconds and asks once more.

  • A press of OK opens, OK held adds to My list

On a television, a press of OK opens what the remote rests on, and only OK held for half a second adds a channel, a film or a series to My list, or takes it off. Before, with some remotes, an infrared one on a Sony television for instance, an ordinary press reached the app as a hold and starred the channel in Live TV instead of opening it. The same half second applies wherever OK is held: in the Guide, to record a programme, and in the channel list over a channel in full screen.

  • On phones and tablets too

The app for phones and tablets has every change on this page but the one to OK held, which is the television app’s: refused streams and films asked for again another way, the previous stream closed before the next, and the same messages when your provider does not answer or counts every connection.

The apps it concerns.
