Lumen·TV 1.0.1080: a new first screen, Films like Home

What changed.

• A new first screen

  The screen a television shows before it has a playlist, where you add one from your phone, is new. It greets you with “Welcome” and sets the three steps out on one line: “Aim at the code”, “Paste your playlist address” and “The TV loads it by itself”. The code is written in two groups of four, in a rounded frame with the time it has left, and the Xtream or Stalker login button is beside it.

• A larger QR code, with a light animation

  The QR code is larger, on a white background, with “Scan to continue” and the address it opens under it. Around it, two rings turn in opposite directions and a thin line is drawn once, then stays. Everything that moves on this screen follows Settings → Home screen → Animation, which is on unless you have turned it off: with it off, nothing moves and the line is there from the start.

• Films and Series, like Home

  Films and Series now look and scroll like Home. The header at the top stays in place and describes the film or the series the remote rests on, and the rows scroll under it: Continue watching, Favourites, “Because you watched …”, Added this week and Top rated in your catalogue, each when it has something to show, then up to twelve of your provider’s groups, one row each. All films, or All series, is still the first row, just under the header.

• All films and All series: four posters a row

  In All films and All series, the posters are smaller, four to a row where there were three, so that two whole rows show at once with their titles. The column of groups is wider, and a long group name wraps onto a second line instead of being cut. Live TV’s column is as it was.

On phones and tablets

The app for phones and tablets is published at the same version and has none of these changes, which are the television app’s: its Films and Series keep the rows they had.
