Lumen·TV 1.0.976: audio language kept, screen kept on

Four fixes for faults reported from an Android TV: the audio language you choose stays chosen, the screen stays on while you watch, Settings → Account works with a second device, and a television that keeps the app open for days still hears of a new version.

What changed.

  • The audio language you choose stays chosen

The audio track and the subtitles you pick stay as you set them when the stream reconnects, after a pause, and when you come back from the home screen or the screensaver, for as long as the app is open. The last audio language you chose is also used for the next film or episode that has it, even after the app has been closed.

  • The screen stays on while you watch

Lumen·TV now asks the television to keep its screen on for as long as you are watching: through buffering and reconnections, and for five minutes into a pause. Before, that request lapsed for a moment at every buffering, and a television whose remote had not been touched for a long while could turn itself off or start its screensaver.

  • Settings → Account works with a second device

On a licence with a second device on it, Settings → Account said that Lumen·TV could not reach its licence server. It shows your licence again.

  • Updates checked again on a television left on

A television keeps the app running for days. Lumen·TV now asks again for a newer version when you come back to it, once twelve hours have passed since it last asked, instead of only when it first started.

On 1.0.905 to 1.0.934, if Settings → About offers nothing
Close Lumen·TV completely (force-stop it in the television’s app settings, or unplug the television), then open it and stay on the main screen for fifteen seconds. If Settings → About still offers nothing, install the newest file by hand once. From this version on, the app asks again by itself.

The apps it concerns.

  • Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV: version 1.0.976
  • Android phones and tablets: version 1.0.976
